Why This Approach Works

Adults approaching retirement hold different questions than younger policyholders. Our courses are built around those specific concerns.

Structured, Impartial Content

No product is recommended. Content is structured around understanding categories of cover, not steering towards a particular insurer or plan.

Designed for Mid-Life Context

The decisions people face at 45 differ from those at 25. Coverage review, retirement overlap, and estate matters are central throughout.

Work With Your Own Documents

Participants learn using their actual policy summaries and benefit illustrations — real material, not illustrative examples alone.

Clear Outcomes at Each Stage

Each course ends with a tangible output: a structured review, a set of questions to bring to a regulated adviser, or a written consolidated coverage plan.

Small Cohort Format

Courses run in small groups so that questions are heard and participants can reflect together — not passive lecture content delivered at scale.

Hong Kong Context Throughout

Examples, policy types, and terminology reflect what is actually available and commonly held in Hong Kong — not generic material adapted from elsewhere.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these courses regulated financial advice?
No. Orchid Vault offers educational content only. Nothing in our courses constitutes a personal recommendation or advice under Hong Kong's Insurance Ordinance. We explain how various types of insurance work, how to read documentation, and how to think through your own situation — but specific decisions about purchasing, surrendering, or restructuring cover should be discussed with a licensed adviser.
Who is the intended participant?
Adults in their 40s and 50s who are resident in Hong Kong and hold, or are considering, personal insurance policies. The content assumes no prior financial background — participants bring their actual documents and questions. Some participants come because they are reviewing coverage accumulated over decades; others are preparing for later-life decisions.
How are the courses delivered?
Courses run in small cohorts, typically six to ten participants. Sessions are held at our Wan Chai office and, where indicated, include a hybrid option. Each weekly session lasts approximately two hours, with structured reading and reflection work between sessions.
Do I need to bring my policy documents?
Yes, particularly for the Policy Review Workshop and Coordinated Planning programme. We guide you through requesting policy summaries and benefit illustrations from your insurer before the course begins. You will also receive instruction on how to interpret these documents during the programme.
What is the refund policy if I cannot attend?
A full refund is available if written notice is received at least seven calendar days before the first session. Cancellations within seven days are credited towards a future cohort. Please contact us directly if your circumstances change — we aim to find a reasonable path forward.
Can I take courses in sequence?
Yes. The three courses are designed to build on one another, and completing them in order offers the most coherent progression. However, each can be taken independently if you already have a working knowledge of the material covered in earlier programmes.
