Insurance Education — Hong Kong
Understand Your Coverage,
On Your Own Terms
Orchid Vault offers structured courses for Hong Kong adults in their 40s and 50s who want to read, compare, and think clearly about their insurance — without pressure, jargon, or product recommendations.
Our Three Courses
Each programme is designed to be taken in sequence or independently, depending on where you are in your thinking.
Insurance Fundamentals for Midlife
Covers the main kinds of insurance relevant to Hong Kong residents in their 40s and 50s: term and whole life, critical illness, medical, and disability income. You'll learn how to read a benefit illustration and where savings-linked products differ from pure protection.
- Life cover types explained clearly
- Critical illness and medical cover
- Reading benefit illustrations
- No product recommendations made
Policy Review Workshop
For those who already hold a mix of policies — often built up across two or three decades — and want to review them with a clear eye. Covers requesting and reading a policy summary, cost-benefit comparison, and how to think about gaps against current life circumstances.
- Request and read policy summaries
- Cost-benefit comparison methods
- Surrender and paid-up decisions
- Work through your own coverage
Coordinated Insurance & Retirement Planning
Integrates insurance planning with retirement and estate thinking. Covers the role of medical insurance as one ages, long-term care where available, the interaction between life insurance and estate liquidity, and decisions around reducing or restructuring coverage in later life.
- Insurance and retirement interaction
- Long-term care considerations
- Estate liquidity and life cover
- Consolidated written coverage plan
Why This Approach Works
Adults approaching retirement hold different questions than younger policyholders. Our courses are built around those specific concerns.
Structured, Impartial Content
No product is recommended. Content is structured around understanding categories of cover, not steering towards a particular insurer or plan.
Designed for Mid-Life Context
The decisions people face at 45 differ from those at 25. Coverage review, retirement overlap, and estate matters are central throughout.
Work With Your Own Documents
Participants learn using their actual policy summaries and benefit illustrations — real material, not illustrative examples alone.
Clear Outcomes at Each Stage
Each course ends with a tangible output: a structured review, a set of questions to bring to a regulated adviser, or a written consolidated coverage plan.
Small Cohort Format
Courses run in small groups so that questions are heard and participants can reflect together — not passive lecture content delivered at scale.
Hong Kong Context Throughout
Examples, policy types, and terminology reflect what is actually available and commonly held in Hong Kong — not generic material adapted from elsewhere.
